Scaferlati Caporal: review

A history pill on this tobacco: the name dates back to the Napoleonic period, when corporals distributed portions of pipe tobacco to troops.

Over the years, Scaferlati Caporal has remained loyal to the French proletarian generations, becoming one of the best-selling national tobaccos.

Today, it is Danish-owned (more specifically by Mac Baren), but the philosophy has remained the original.

We are talking about a rich blend of tobaccos, but the protagonists are Virginia and Kentucky.

It also contains a particular tobacco, Paraguay (also present in other French tobaccos), which gives it a very characteristic aromatic note.

Aromatically, there are alternating woody and herbaceous notes, with an undertone of smokiness.

It is a rather dry tobacco, being a natural. This means that it burns smoothly, but a little more attention needs to be paid to the loading, perhaps being more generous with the quantities.

In conclusion, Scaferlati Caporal is a simple, but very good tobacco.

We recommend it to everyone who appreciates Italian cut tobaccos. It is not a fine blend, but straightforward and sincere.
